Critical Care

There are many, rational, emotional and medical reasons for moving patients out of hospital ICUs and providing them with critical care at home. An ICU at home, in other words. Long stays in the ICU potentially increases the risk of acquiring nosocomial infections, and would delay the start of rehabilitative treatments

Conditions covered under critical care 

• Recovery after a prolonged stay in ICU
• Neurological patients
• Patients with spinal/brain injuries and/or multiple trauma
• Post-transplant patients
• End-of-life care patients
• Cancer patients
• Patients with end-stage respiratory disorders
• Patients on Ventilator and/or Tracheostomy<

Services offered under critical care plan: 

Based on the treating doctor’s recommendation, a critical care plan is developed for each patient, and the service packages are tailor-made to suit the requirement of the patient and the patient’s family. The service packages offered under the critical care plan include:

• 12-24 hours of nursing support provided by nurses who have a minimum of 2-years nursing experience and critical care training
• 12-24 hours of medical caretaker support
• Visits by physiotherapist
• Equipment rental, based on requirement - may include a ventilator, suction machine, monitor, hospital bed, etc.
• Consumables (paid for by the patient) - when available

Tasks covered

In addition to continuous monitoring of vitals, maintaining the highest standards of hygienic care and administration of medication, our team can also handle the following tasks, as per the treating doctor’s directive and the care plan previously decided upon.

• Nursing care for mechanically ventilated patients with Tracheostomy
• Nursing care for patients on CPAP or BiPAP and/or High Flow Oxygen Therapy
• Tracheostomy care
• Total parenteral nutrition
• Internal feeding
• Infusion therapy
• Bowel and bladder management
• Maintaining skin integrity
